Description:

Our Spanish 024 course is designed for children (ages 5-13) of our Spanish-speaking migrant communities (and all children anywhere who wish to learn Spanish) who already speak some Spanish but need some help developing their reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills. Children continue to learn the skills necessary to read, write and speak Spanish, and our instructors will continue to work with students to speak and use correct grammar and learn new vocabulary.

  • Our Language Teaching Style:

  • • No homework

  • • No marking

  • • Storytelling as part of language immersion

  • • We’re able to accept new cohorts of students in subsequent School Terms

  • Subsequent Terms continue with Heritage Spanish for children and continue to include additional reading, speaking and comprehension practice, intermediate grammar, vocabulary, and conversation and will continue in the same time slot for the duration of the full course.

Class Format:

  • 8 sessions per School Term

  • 1 hour class session

  • Hybrid classes: students have the option of attending either in-person at the EarthDiverse Centre in the Hamilton CBD, or on-line via Zoom

  • Classes are recorded so that students can review sessions, or catch up on a missed class

  • Fpr those attending in-person classes, caregivers will need to sign their kids in and out

However, distance learners will need access to a desktop or laptop computer with a good quality web-camera (tablet devices and mobile phones can also access our live-streamed classes), a built-in microphone (most modern laptops have built-in microphones) or a headset with a microphone. You will also need to download and install the free Zoom software on your computer or device. Those accessing the video recordings will be able to do so with a simple web browser on any device.
