• This is Part 1 of a four-part Introductory Arabic course taught over 4 successive school terms specifically designed for beginning Arabic learners. All of our language courses focus on acquiring reading and conversational skills, and learning about local culture. Our courses are designed for busy people: we do not expect you to study outside of class, nor do we assign homework (unless you’d like some!). Come and spend 12 class hours per Term (eight 1.5 hour weekly classes) learning Arabic and about Arabic culture, and have some fun too!
• Introductory Arabic 101 classes begin with a focus on learning the Arabic language from scratch, with learning how to read and write the Arabic Nasakh (قلم النسخ) script over the eight weekly sessions during the first Term. This course also introduces elementary grammar, basic vocabulary and gets students speaking with some basic conversational skills. Subsequent term courses of Introductory Arabic (i.e. our Arabic 102-104 courses) continue with reading and writing practice, introductory grammar, vocabulary, and conversation.
• Those who already understand and speak some Arabic, but who do not know how to read and write, may also choose to enrol in the Arabic 101 course.
• Subsequent Term courses continue with Introductory Arabic (i.e. our Arabic 102-104 courses) and continue to include additional reading and comprehension practice, more introductory grammar, vocabulary, and conversation and will continue in the same time slot for the duration of the full course.
